HP vice president & general manager

In his role of vice president & general manager, communications & media solutions, HP enterprise services, David Sliter's responsibilities encompass end-to-end P&L accountability for the communications, media and entertainment solutions enterprise services business. This is achieved by utilizing a solutions model comprised of HP and 3rd party industry differentiated software combined with services capability (business consulting, integration services, support services) for the design and build of a repeatable worldwide solution catalogue to further strengthen the HP software portfolio and impact in the CME industry market. An important aspect of this is enabling the right mix of IP vs. custom services across our customer solutions engagements, thereby improving profitability and reducing risk for both HP and its customers.

Prior to HP, David held the role of group general manager, industry solutions at Microsoft. During his four year tenure there, he and his team developed software and services rich solutions aimed at pulling the Microsoft platform into the communications & media industry. Prior to that, he spent twenty years at Nortel in a variety of roles, culminating in the post of vice president and general manager in multimedia communications, where he developed market segmentation and defined product strategy to win key customer segments. Prior to this role, David held the position of VP, network services R&D for Nortel.

David is a graduate of the Microcomputing Engineering Technology program at St Lawrence College is Cornwall, Ontario, Canada. David is married with 4 children and is an avid ice hockey fan - including coaching competitive children's travel teams.
